Ampeg

Ampeg was founded in 1946 by Everett Hull and Stanley Michaels as Michaels-Hull Electronic Labs. The company's name comes from the nickname given to a microphone pickup they created, which was called "Ampeg". In 1949, Hull became the sole owner and changed the name to Ampeg Bassamp Company. In 2018, Ampeg became part of the Yamaha Guitar Group.
