Shipping & Returns

Introduction:

Some of our products, like pianos, speakers, digital pianos, cellos, and double basses, are large and heavy. We deliver these items ourselves in East London and Port Elizabeth. For areas outside these cities, we use couriers, which may cost extra. Please contact us to arrange delivery for large items and query pricing for shipping.

Delivery Fees:

- Orders over R1000 are delivered free to main cities.  Costs may be added to your total for outlying areas and for large items as described above.
- Delivery fees are shown at checkout based on your location where applicable.

Out-of-Stock Items:

If an item is out of stock after you place an order, we’ll notify you right away. You can choose a similar product, get store credit, a voucher, or a refund for the unavailable item. To request a refund, email us at salesonline@leegold.co.za with your order number in the subject line.

If you used a discount or promotional voucher for an item we can’t fulfill, the voucher’s value can be converted to store credit but will not apply for cash refunds.

If your order is missing items or incorrect, email us immediately at salesonline@leegold.co.za with your order number for quick resolution.

Returns:

To return an item, contact us through our website or email salesonline@leegold.co.za with your order number and a detailed reason for the return. You’ll need your proof of purchase and order number.

Card payments:

Refunds go back to the original card and may take a day or two to process.


EFT or Cash Deposits:

Send us your bank details (account name, number, bank, and branch code) for the most efficient way to get your refunds processed.

You can return goods within 15 business days of delivery for a full refund if:
- The purchase was due to direct marketing (e.g., ads or promotions), and you cancel during the cooling-off period.
- You couldn’t inspect the item before delivery and reject it because it doesn’t match the description, sample, or quality expected, or it doesn’t meet a special order’s specifications. In these cases, Lee Gold Online covers return costs.
- The item is unsuitable for a purpose you discussed with us before buying. Returns are at our expense within 10 business days.

You cannot return items for a full refund if:
- You didn’t check with us to ensure the product suits your needs.
- The item was altered, installed, combined with other goods, or damaged (e.g., scratched Guitars or Damaged Books or opened / broken packaging that can't be repackaged).
- Public health or other regulations prevent the return.
- The item was a special order or customized.

For approved returns, we refund the purchase price minus a 15% restocking fee for cancellations. Goods must be in original condition and packaging. If packaging was damaged to verify the item.  The 15% can we be waived if you are using the amounts for store credit.

We inspect all returns and decide whether to issue a refund or credit. Returns are at the customer’s risk and expense unless stated otherwise. Choose products carefully to avoid unnecessary returns.

Warranty:

All products come with the official South African manufacturer’s warranty, with a minimum of one year. Warranties cover manufacturing defects, not normal wear and tear (e.g., drum sticks, strings, or reeds) or maintenance. Warranty repairs are completed by trained technicians through the manufacturer’s South African representative. After the warranty period, repairs are available for a fee. After 7 business days from delivery, you’re responsible for courier costs for defective or damaged goods, even if under warranty.
